Where has the week gone?

Crafty creations was three days ago and it only seems like yesterday that I was posting the card for the week before and now here are another set, well two really.

This week we finally finished off the Pop boxes that were started 4 weeks ago. We would never have been able to make these without the great video from Gemma Clarke .

There are others for POP up Box on YouTube but this is the one I used and credit where credit is due.

We used the Carousel Birthday Stamp Set and the matching Cupcakes and Carousel DSP and lots of Very Vanilla CS. Whilst these four ladies were working on these the other two were happily making cards they had missed out on previously. Thank goodness I had a couple of kits left over.

The box folds into the tray at the front then when you draw on the ribbon, the recipient gets a surprise as the box pops out.

The other card for the 3rd march 2017  I have also CASED from Pinterest and it belonged to  Connie Barbara and again there are several versions using the Owl Builder Punch. Some have the owl ears up some have them down both look good, depends on the manufacturer of the guitar!! Image result for guitars

Ours look pretty cool great for teenager or avid music fan. The sentiments were from Crazy about You Stamp Set and the stippled background One Wild Ride. We also colored them with Wink of Stella to get that bit of Rock sparkle.

OK that’s  it off to create this Friday’s card.

Happy Stamping

Rescue Remedy

I was having a Christmas Card marathon and then my Stampin’ Up! order arrived.

Happy Day!  Along with goodies for the girls,  I ordered  the Stitched from the Heart Framelits., our November Special with %25 off selected stamps as well. I had (as we all do now and then) just made a blob of ink in the wrong place and was Grrrring at myself when inspiration struck.

I grabbed the framelits, some This Christmas DSP owland proceeded to mix and match and this is what resulted. I was quiet happy at the rescue and who would know!  The stitched impression is right next to the edge and very fine. Matching perfectly with the Layering Circles and Ovals.

Remember it’s not the only way to get a stitched effect. Check out our Technique Treats #10 for Faux Stitching.

“Waste not want not!” my Mother said.

Bye catch you next time.

Shopkin Wishes Birthday Cake

Hello from Delightful Tasmania. By now the birthday girl has received her card with squeals of delight so hope you enjoy it too. For those with young families the name Shopkin will ring a bell as they are tiny figures with their own world and movie that are collectables, and a must have for many a young girl.
Shopkin Wishes

I had as much fun creating her as did Emily receiving it!!  Her main cake was made with Melon Mambo CS which was heat set with dazzling diamonds. She really does sparkle! The hair band was cut using a circle die (R),the icing from  another die, candle flame the leaf waste on the Botanical Builders Framelits Die, the mouth a tiny waste from the Rose Garden thinlit, the eyes circle punches and white dots from the Owl Builder punch and the legs of a donkey make the eyelashes!! Love punch art…. all sorts of items become re-purposed.

Old Olive,Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White were the other card stock used. .The lines around the papers were drawn with a Project Life journal Pen.

Hope you enjoyed Shopkin Wishes. I will post Cheeky Chocolate next time.

Take care.

What a bedroom mess.

Well! Hello there! Yes it’s me I’m back.

Long story, short version. We have finally purchased and renovated our home, which is what has kept me out of the picture here. What should have been a couple weeks has turned into months. I’m sure all you renovating people know how schedules can go astray.

Exciting news!  I am here with renewed focus and vigor, ready to post some of the new exciting cards from the coming January catalogue. My sneek preview order arrives any day so stay tuned. In between time enjoy this little first birthday version with my favorite owl punch.

Sadly not all products are Stampin’Up, with the star, DSP, and Happy Birthday from my “Other Stash”. The balloon are 3 shapes, heart, star and round in Blackberry Bliss and the Owl in Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride.

The inspiration came from Pinterest where the owl punch cards are numerous. But special mention to Julia Hall from The Crafty Bug for the basic layout.

Enjoy.

2nd Birthday Hungry Caterpillar

With my granddaughters second birthday looming I wanted to make an interactive slider card with her favorite character, the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Taking license with the original story I decide to make him as colorful as possible and have 3 not 1 watermelon to eat.

First I chose my colours for the caterpillar; – Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razelberry, Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay, Lost Lagoon and Daffodil Delight from my scrap pile and punched them out with the ¾” punch.  I punched a single circle from Whisper White using the 1¼” punch for his head.  The feelers were created with the candle from the Cup Cake Builder Punch and the dots on the top from the Owl Builder Punch, the legs come from the stalk end of the leaf from the Bird Builder Punch all from Basic Black.

Just about to start my Journey!

I glued the discs onto a strip of scrap card slightly overlapping with Multipurpose liquid glue, glued eyes, feelers and drew a mouth with Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, lightly colouring cheeks with Blushing Bride.

The Whisper White Card Stock was embossed with Decorative Dots then a slit cut across the card. Using a Stampin’ Dimensional, I adhered one to the top of a 5c coin  at the back of the slit then I adhered the second 5c coin on top of the Stampin’ Dimensional so that the two 5c coins were sitting exactly on top of each other ensuring that they could slide side to side along the slit unhindered. The caterpillar was glued to the 5c piece at the Blackberry Bliss disc.

   Ahh! Nearly There.

The three Watermelon slices were triangles cut from Birthday Bash Series papers and coloured withOld Olive and Real Red Stampin’ Write Pens before attaching to the embossed paper with Stampin’ Dimensional. More Stampin’ Dimensional were added to the back before attaching to Melon Mambo. I stamped the greeting in Basic Black from Itty Bitty Banners and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelites with the Big Shot popping it up on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Wrapping a ribbon around and adding the 2 figure that was coated with Dazzling Diamonds completed the front that was then glued to the base card in Whisper White.

    Yumm! That Tastes so good.

Inside I created a poem that you can find in verse and a pocket for the much desired Birthday Money.

Hope you enjoy. I know Lauren Did.
