Crafty Creations February 2nd

Hi all!

Have you  been reading some negative comments about this stamp set and dies that it’s too difficult?  Well we used the Let The Good Times Roll and Thrill Ride Pop Up and our little  group proved today that that is so wrong. Everyone managed to complete their card in the 2 hrs allotted.

Mind you I did do a fair amount of prep, stamping and cutting out the cars, balloons, presents, flags and banners. Just as well I did because we had 6 of our regular team, 2 new ladies and one marvelous young man and his carer.

His name was Ben and he was delighted to create the card for his Mum. We even found an “I love you Mum” stamp in the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set.  We weren’t able to take a photo of Ben’s card as he became a bit tired and left when he had completed his card. Well done Ben. Hope to see you again.

For the front of the card we used the Lift Me Up stamp set so that half the class could be working on the front of the card and the others on the insert. We tied it in with a air balloon above the roller coaster.

So if today is your day why not have a go yourselves. The children I have given this card too have loved it and the older young at heart as well.

Take care, travel safe till next post

A Little Nest.

So much to do and so little time, so a quick post hoping that you have all had a safe and Happy Christmas.  Crafty Creations  are on holidays but just to keep in touch and keep your creative juices flowing I’m sharing this little toddlers card.

Can you identify which stamp set the little nest is from? How many guessed the Swirly Birds Set. Well done you!

The papers are Whisper White and Flirty Flamingo. Inks used Blushing Bride, and Flirty Flamingo and Basic Grey for the nest.2nd-birthday

The embossed background used  the Seaside EF, a versatile folder, not just for sea themed cards!!   Love the Layering Oval Dies, makes framing so quick and easy. The sentiment was from a free retired Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, Party Pants. Getting these free stamps sets is a quick way to build up your supply. You are all so lucky to be able to do that soon.

Number 2 is a Large Number Framelit and the little suit Something for Baby SS and Baby’s First Framelits. All topped off by some flowers using the Blooming Heart Thinlits and dotted with some black pearls.

Get ready for the NEW YEAR.

I am, lots of organising and sorting so can have a super year.  Cheers Naomi

Crafty Creations December 2nd.

Sitting here looking at the streaming sunshine makes these cards just right. Unlike the Northern Hemisphere summer is officially here and what better way to express that summer feeling than with Fresh Fruit, which is also the name of the stamp set used on our Happy Birthday Cards last week.

Whilst I don’t have an image this card had a secret gift card holder inside similar to this one.

To fit an A6 card  you will need 1 x 25cm x 14cm or 9¾” x 5½”.                                           Scored at 10cm, 12.5cm, and 15cm or 37/8″ 47/8″ and 57/8″ across the shortest length.  Create a mountain fold, and punch a small section from the  middle,( Use a window punch, oval, or Decorative Label punch).   Glue either side of the cut out, but not across  the bottom. Insert into base card.

We used the Stitched Shaped Framelits and of course Pear Pizzaz  outlined in Garden Green and Peeekaboo Peach outlined in Calypso Coral.

There was a choice of pears or branches for the background from the crisp, colourful and almost edible Fruit Stand DSP.   Love how they have all turned out.

Our break up is Friday the 16th I will post some pics of all the goodies.

Cheers happy Stamping.

Rescue Remedy

I was having a Christmas Card marathon and then my Stampin’ Up! order arrived.

Happy Day!  Along with goodies for the girls,  I ordered  the Stitched from the Heart Framelits., our November Special with %25 off selected stamps as well. I had (as we all do now and then) just made a blob of ink in the wrong place and was Grrrring at myself when inspiration struck.

I grabbed the framelits, some This Christmas DSP owland proceeded to mix and match and this is what resulted. I was quiet happy at the rescue and who would know!  The stitched impression is right next to the edge and very fine. Matching perfectly with the Layering Circles and Ovals.

Remember it’s not the only way to get a stitched effect. Check out our Technique Treats #10 for Faux Stitching.

“Waste not want not!” my Mother said.

Bye catch you next time.

What’s Happening in November?

Just wanted to let you know. New Framelits Coming In November!!

On November the 1st a  new set of Framelits that is going to be in next years catalog is being release.  THESE ARE REALLY AWESOME.  They match the current Ovals, Squares and Circles perfectly. I know I will be ordering them.  Here is a short video from Stampin’ Up! so you can see them better:
Not only are stitches a classic trend, they illustrate the quality, precision, and extra care taken when creating a piece. Giving a stitched gift shows just how much you value that relationship. With Stitched Shapes Framelits you can make paper stitches in seconds, turning any project into one that is stitched from the heart.

from-the-heart

Just to make it super special these are the stamp sets  being offered at 25% off. Must be one in there for everyone at least!

Be sure to check your catalogue as some have matching dies, no discount sorry.

Crafty Creations 22nd July

We have Rachel Zmolik to thank for this weeks card. She made several cards using the new Shooting Star and Sliding Star Framelit Dies , then as happens with Pinterest  Gail discovered it and requested we make one. Always happy to oblige.

We changed it a bit, adding the sun from the Swirly Birds Stamp Set, a couple of birds, a greeting and an coloured tree.

Sheltering Tree and Swirly Birds

We used some buttons behind each of the wheels so they were hidden well but still allowed the bike to move along the curve. Because they all used different inks the cards have a unique individual look. The two cards on the left have their card fronts mounted on green backgrounds – a happy mistake that turned out well when the stamping was started on the wrong piece of card stock!  My little birds on the top card are there to cover an extra dob of ink that crept into the wrong place! I love that about card making. Mistakes are easily rectified and sometimes add more to the card as does the sun on the top left hand card and the sponged background. It look great.

Thanks for stopping bye. More next Friday.

Crafty Creations Washi Tape

Well girls! That was fun and how exciting are these lovely cards.

I do have to credit Craftyperson for the first card idea.

Crafty Creations

Our first card was made by using the Large leaf  from  the Botanical Builder Framelit Die, to create a window in the Basic Black CS.  Washi Tape was layered on to a separate piece of card stock then glued behind the leaf. The Left hand side  was cut with the long leaf die.

This was then popped up highlighting the Washi tape. This was  then adhered onto Whisper White CS and  3 small flowers and Words from Expression Natural Elements glued with sticky dots to the front.

Supply List

Our second card the girls used their own Washi Tape and a couple of tiny butterflies
They all look great and colourful.
Well done!!

Crafty Creation 1st April

Happy April Fools day!

We didn’t make fools of ourselves today but we did have fun. We used the Acrylic Stamping Block technique.

With this Technique, often, once the ink is applied to the handle it is lightly spritzed with water to give a soft water colour effect. I wanted a more dynamic, spotted effect for the sand and sea so we dabbed the ink direct onto the handle and then straight onto the paper.

For my card I chose some retired Stampin’ Up! DSP – Designer Series Paper and the Wetlands Stamp Set. For the inks I used Soft Sky and So Saffron, stamping the birds and greeting in Archival Black.

Baby’s two.

Baby cards are always a delight to create and this little fella was no exception.

What better way to express the love that a baby generates than with the Embossing folder Happy Hearts. It was perfect to start with. I adhered it to the Whisper White base card. I then created a frame using a rectangular die  and rounded the corners with the Envelope Board in Tempting Turquoise

The little romper suit was cut from Birthday Bash Occasions 2015 (retired) DSP Paper using the Baby’s First Framelits and the tie added in coordinating Tempting Turquoise Card Stock.

I grabbed the some letters  I have and created the sentiment and cut with the Bitty Banners Die. My little ducky was stamped in Daffodil Delight then die cut with the Baby’s First Framelits. I popped the frame and the romper suit up on Dimensionals added three pearls to the side  and one on the tie. Adhereing one small duck on the front completed the card.

Fluttering Butterflies.

Thanks for dropping by.

We had a larger class today at Crafty Creations at the Community Center, with two new ladies attending. They, like most  people, were a bit unsure at the start but quickly settled in and surprised themselves with their lovely cards. Well done  ladies!

We quickly put our heads to the task of creating, with the very versatile stamp set, Timeless Textures as the background stamp from the Occasions Catalogue. Fun was had stamping on and stamping off just to create that right depth of background on Whisper White Card Stock.

Next came the butterflies, Papillon Potpourri, an older favorite of mine, and the Butterfly Thinlits die.  Add a sentiment Simply Wonderful (Retired) and some pearls and… voila card created. The card stock we used were Hello Honey, Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow with matching inks as well as Smokey Slate and Memento Black inks.
