Crafty Creations 16th June

The days have been a bit cold here. Down to 21 Degrees. I know for people in really cold places, Canada, some of USA, Europe that is laughable but for us it’s nippy, jumper time for the locals.

What better way to add to our warmth than by creating a card that says just that. At this point I have no idea who came up with the first jumper/cardigan using the Cable Knit Dynamic EF as there are lots of images on Pinterest etc. Enough to say thanks to all those who have created with this folder.

Now my girls were spoilt as they had a choice, a male or female and surprise surprise more males chosen than females.

Relatively simple card but very effective. We used Whisper White, Pink Pirouette and Fresh Fig CS for the jumper and Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Fresh Florals DSP for the Cardigan.

Jumper:

The Pink Piroutte was embossed then marked at the center  and a  V taken out of the neck and lined with a Delicate White Doily cut to fit. Unfortunately the crimping tool is no longer available but that’s what was used for the band in Very Vanilla. Happy birthday from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous SS was stamped onto Very Vanilla then cut using the the Sweet and Sassy framelits. A circle was cut at the neck of the folded base card before the Embossed front was adhered. The flowers were in Fresh fig using the flowers from The Bloomin Heart Thinlits. Some pretty pearls completed the jumper.

Cardigan

The cardigan was a little more fiddly as the DSP was adhered to the center of the base card WW before cutting a neck circle. After embossing the Crumb Cake it was cut in half, pieces put together back to back , then a large triangle from the bottom and a smaller triangle taken out of the top. When opened out this formed the front of the cardigan. This was adhered to the DSP and again using the paper  crimper, bands were added.

A small pocket was made with a tiny handkerchief popping out.  Using the Badges and Banners SS, the sentiment was stamped on WW and punched with the Duet Banner punch. The final addition of  a button completed the card. It was threaded with some twine or in a very small sliver of paper. jumpers

40th Celebrations

Hope you have all had a good Christmas and are enjoying the lull between now and the New Year. I am in crafting mode as all other work on hold. As promised to self I am busy sorting stamps so stay posted as there will be some bargains coming soon. And that’s not even a New Years Resolution!!

In between time I have been playing – serious play- with the new So in Love Bundle. It is from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue available for order  January 4th. (If you don’t have your copy yet and would like one just contact me)

I had an order for a 40th Birshiny-so-in-lovethday card and knew this delicate set would suit just perfectly.

My card base was  Whisper White, then a layer of Blushing Bride, followed by  Whisper White CS with a layer of Falling in Love DSP across the bottom two thirds. I then ran this through the Big Shot with the new Falling Petals Textured EF – mind you I think they look like hearts, not petals. The little hearts suited my card perfectly.

I cut the flowers from Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper, with the So Detailed Thinlit Die making sure I had the glitter side down on my cutting plate with the die on the backing paper. This way the cut works best and I had no trouble with the detailed cutting.

There is a thick border section to the die that I placed on my join and covered with White  Organza ribbon.

Using the Larinside-sio-in-lovege Number Framelits I glued a Pretty In Pink CS one over a Whisper White CS One, setting just off center, to give a shadow effect then coloured them in Wink of Stella Clear.  These were popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals, as was the retired sentiment.

To complete the front of the card card I added a tiny heart from the Owl Builder to the front of the bow.

Inside I again used the So Detailed Thinlit Die  as an embossing folder this time,(Technique Treats #11) .

To finish the card I highlighted the embossing with Wink of Stella,  added my verse and card complete.

Hope you enjoy it.  Just one of the may delights that are in the new catalogue. Stay tuned for more ideas coming soon.

Stay Safe Naomi.

Couple Cuties.

Now that you have all received your DSP from the October specials I think you might be looking for some ideas to use them. These little cuties use the lovely By The Shore DSP, coupled with the Day at the Beach Stamp set from the Seasonal Catalogue.

Of course you can get plenty of ideas from our Pretty paper Patterns too.

The Girl and the Boy were a couple of random stamps I had in my collection coupled with some retired framelits.

The framelit in Real Red was embossed with the Sea Side Embossing Folder.

It was fun colouring the girl and boy  with the  Stamp and Write Markers and the Blender Pen.  Colouring is very relaxing so it’s easy to see why the colouring trend has caught on! Mind you colouring a stamp and making a card means you have a give away product for your time as well.

The other elements, sun, umbrella, bucket and spade, were stamped on Whisper White and coloured before fussy cutting out and adhering with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To complete the card a pocket was needed for the necessary gift card, so I stamped and coloured the ball and thongs before embossing with the Sea Side Embossing folder. This was adhered to the base card using the Foam Adhesive Strips  which gives just the right depth for a gift card, or money. They have made my life so much easier!!

Thanks Stampin’ Up!

Off to create some more cards but make sure you check back Saturday for our Technique Treats November selection using Faux silk and Faux Stitching Techniques.

Bye! Happy stamping!!

Crafty Creations October 14th

Are you waiting patiently  for this post to see your creation?

I have been busy renovating  the kitchen so time has just slipped by. How do they do it on the TV?   3 days and they are done!  It takes  so much time, waiting for things to cure or dry, before the second and third coats can go on, not to mention the prep needed before the first stroke!!

So apologies to all.

Mostly these little cards were made from retired Stampin’ Up! products but the little frog is from the current Find your Inspiration 2016/2017 Catalogue and is one of the Hostess Stamps, Love you Lots,  that can be yours for hosting a workshop and selling $250 worth of products.

We also used the Seaside Embossing folder. Whilst there is always an option for cards like this for participants to bring their own stamps, only Trish chose her cute little Teddy Bear. Cheeky little fellow.

As the card says Cheers till next time.

Crafty Creations September 9th

Wow where has the time gone too. Mmmm probably with 4 grandchildren arriving here to live.

Child minding tripled now. Been to the beach, shopping for thongs, swim in the pool, lunch eggs and bacon and then strawberries and ice cream and that’s just today!!  I loved every minute of it though. Witnessing their enthusiasm and excitement at new places and anticipation of  adventures yet to come is a real boost to the emotions. A very happy day.

Not to say that creating is not my happy place, as it is. Making cards that are enthusiastically replicated by my Crafty Creations ladies is always a delight as well as a challenge to second guess what they would like this time. There are so many ways to use the marvelous products from Stampin’ Up! often it is hard to choose. Like today. Will I make the bottle tags, or shall we use the new masks with the delightful Fruit Stand stamps or perhaps some punch art with the Foxy Friends.?

So here are the replicated cards for last Friday. The original was spotted on  Pinterest by Irma who also kindly lent us the stamp set, now retired. We sponged the card  in Night of Navy or Dapper Denim then heat embossed the star and the sentiment with White Embossing powder. We did use the Misit to repeatedly stamp the Shepherds to get a solid enough image. Then used the appropriate coloured marker to dot out any remaining white sections.   The card front was finished with a diamante on the star.

Off to sort out this weeks card.  Cheers Naomi

Swirly Baptism

We don’t have any Crafty Creations this week so I’m sharing a card I made a couple of weeks ago. A friend asked me to make a Baptism card for their young granddaughter, no longer a baby.christening

I did look at Pinterest for inspiration  and came across a similar item.

So I have taken the liberty to CASE her design with a couple of differences. I chose Pink Pirouette  and Whisper White as my main CS.

I used the Banner Framelits and placed over them some Vellum from Retired Sheer perfection Stack.

The cross was from the retired Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio, Crosses of Hope.  Sad we don’t have it but I can still use all the images.

I embossed the circle with Happy Heart EF.  You  can see the Swirly Scribbles behind the flowers, such a versatile little thinlit. . My leaves are from the Retired Bird Punch and the flowers The Botanical Builder Framelits.

Finished off with Wink of Stella on the cross and oval and Candy Dots in the heart of the flowers.

I did include her name across the bottom of the card but have left it out for privacy reasons.

Below you will find both the current and retired items.  They are included in the showcase in case you need to identify them for your own use, from your stash.  Sadly they are not able to be purchased from my store.

I was very happy with this card as were the parents and grandparents.

Enjoy, Naomi.

Crafty Creations August 12

Well this is a first. Trying to create this of on my tiny phone. Beloved computer off at the computer doctors. So sad! Been giving me grief for a while now so  fingers crossed it’s s not terminal!!

At Crafty Creations we created this Christmas Card. I must confess that we used retired products mostly and a Merry Christmas die that found it’s way into my stash from a friend. The background dots came from the Swirly Birds with silver embossed stars from Made with Love.    The ladies were kept busy snip, snip, snipping the trees and presents before popping up with Stamping Up Dimensional then highlighting with Wink of Stella and Diamenties.  The tree was from retired DSP Home for Christmas, you may still have some in your stash?

*********Christmas tree

OK I stalled here as couldn’t watermark the images from class so now we are back on the computer I will finish this blog off. Wasn’t terminal just a clean up for the computer.

It was interesting to see the different aspects that each participant added to make their card their own. We had Embossed dots and yellow stars, highlighted holly and diamante , more parcels, different tree star and highlighted stars on the top. Can you spot all the differences?

Crafty Creations July 8th

Just a small group today with school holidays snapping up some of our Nan’s, others just on holiday, and one sick lady. Get well soon.

We made a start on Christmas with these two cards. Both use the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. A very versatile set that has numerous applications, just search Pinterest to see what I mean. This is where I found my second card, using the Hearth and Home Thinlit, when I was running out of time and inspiration.  Not to mention that I just love the crisp simplicity and falling snow. Thanks to Peggy for her inspiration.

 The Originals.

Never say Die.

After much thinking, password changes, new account set ups, etc I have managed to circumvent the broken USB port to get photos to you.  This is an example of their work with one participant managing  to decorate her bag and has done a lovely job, inside and out. I’m sure the others will receive similar treatment during the week.

Because we only had the handles to finish we had time to create another card.

We made this sweet card that was cased from Carolyn King who made a Tutorial for Mother’s Day using the Retired Birthday Bouquet DSP, in a one sheet wonder class.

Thank you for your  inspiration. It is one thing I admire with Stampin’ Up! members that they are a very generous lot of people and always ready to share, encourage and teach others. Crafty Creations June

Glad the system is up an running again. After all I have Pretty Paper Patterns and Techniques Treats I need to bring to you, with lots of images to upload.

Keep Stamping Naomi.

Baby’s two.

Baby cards are always a delight to create and this little fella was no exception.

What better way to express the love that a baby generates than with the Embossing folder Happy Hearts. It was perfect to start with. I adhered it to the Whisper White base card. I then created a frame using a rectangular die  and rounded the corners with the Envelope Board in Tempting Turquoise

The little romper suit was cut from Birthday Bash Occasions 2015 (retired) DSP Paper using the Baby’s First Framelits and the tie added in coordinating Tempting Turquoise Card Stock.

I grabbed the some letters  I have and created the sentiment and cut with the Bitty Banners Die. My little ducky was stamped in Daffodil Delight then die cut with the Baby’s First Framelits. I popped the frame and the romper suit up on Dimensionals added three pearls to the side  and one on the tie. Adhereing one small duck on the front completed the card.

Some products are still available if you wish to recreate a similar card. One of the great things about Stampin’ Up! are the bundles that they offer and these two come in a bundle so you save! save! save!  Happy Stamping!
