Crafty Creations Friday 16th December

It was our last week for the term on Friday and so we closed with a secret project. I love the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit Die and have wanted to make a luminary with it for ages. So now was the perfect opportunity.

We used the Thick Whisper White CS and Vellum with the retired Sleigh Ride Edgelits and the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set.

With the room lights were out they did glow beautifully and the little fake candles last a long time. So that you can turn them on and off the bow and Sentiment were made as a separate piece and attached with velcro.

I have just about worn out the die making them for friends, once they saw them it was a “I want one!” catch cry. Hope you like them as much as the class did.

We were fortunate in being hosted at Irmas for a break up coffee and a chat after class. So a big thank you to Irma and the class for all their well wishes, gifts and support.

See you all in 2017.  Naomi Connolly

At this time of the year thoughts also turn to the New Year and keeping track of the day, the date and all those thoughts that arise that mustn’t be forgotten.  So what better way to help someone along than to present them with a desk calendar and sticky notes!! Which is exactly what we made at class.

“Sending a smile your way “or “You are every lovely word I could possibly think of ” seemed to fit the bill for lasting affirmations for the year.  These lovely verses and the stamps are part of the Love and Affection Stamp set and the DSP is Affectionately Yours.

We did attach a small piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock to the back as well for a note to the recipient, appropriately decorated with the same stamp set.

The folding is simple.  Cut a piece of  A4 card stock  in half length ways. Fold one piece in half then one end in half again. Cut a separate piece to match the folded size of your card base from the other section and attach to small folded section.   For more help go to http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/easelcard/

We have one more post for Crafty’s then a Christmas Break till February the 6th.

But pop back here to see what else I am up to during the break.

Cheers and thank you one and all.

Crafty Creations December 2nd.

Sitting here looking at the streaming sunshine makes these cards just right. Unlike the Northern Hemisphere summer is officially here and what better way to express that summer feeling than with Fresh Fruit, which is also the name of the stamp set used on our Happy Birthday Cards last week.

Whilst I don’t have an image this card had a secret gift card holder inside similar to this one.

To fit an A6 card  you will need 1 x 25cm x 14cm or 9¾” x 5½”.                                           Scored at 10cm, 12.5cm, and 15cm or 37/8″ 47/8″ and 57/8″ across the shortest length.  Create a mountain fold, and punch a small section from the  middle,( Use a window punch, oval, or Decorative Label punch).   Glue either side of the cut out, but not across  the bottom. Insert into base card.

We used the Stitched Shaped Framelits and of course Pear Pizzaz  outlined in Garden Green and Peeekaboo Peach outlined in Calypso Coral.

There was a choice of pears or branches for the background from the crisp, colourful and almost edible Fruit Stand DSP.   Love how they have all turned out.

Our break up is Friday the 16th I will post some pics of all the goodies.

Cheers happy Stamping.
