Enjoying DSP

By now most people are enjoying the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue. I hope you have your copy!

One of the many things I love are all the new DSP papers. For those who are familiar with my humble blog you will have noticed a bit of Pop of Pink splattered here and there and today’s card is no exception.

I created this little cutie a while ago but wanted to share it with you as it features an Elephant and a Mouse which is from Love You lots  Stamp Set. He is one of the set that you can choose as an exclusive hostess only gift when you host a party or workshop.  I  think they are rather cute and the papers just make him shine.

To see more of what can be done using DSP head over here to the Pretty Paper Patterns Page.

June Blog

Thanks for stopping bye and remember you can obtain a catalogue from me, by phone or email or pop over to my shop.

Or better still host a Stampin’ Up ! Party and get this great little stamp set for yourself and a FREE catalogue.

Details are on the Web.

Sponging Blitz.

Sometimes there’s a part of me that is just not satisfied with my cards.

I have made these for our Crafty Creations on Friday but let me talk you through my personal dissatisfaction with each one.no moon

This was my  first card. I didn’t put in a moon and not happy with the trees overlapping each other at the bottom Right Hand corner. To me they are looking squashed and not shadowy enough.

Good moon CC

 2nd attempt.

Happy with this before I sliced it. Then didn’t like the bulge on the side of the moon. It would have been fine but a gremlin managed to make a blob on the card (not that easy to see here but under the diamentie below the moon and under the sentiment). Wet ones, sneaky glue or a weeing gecko have a lot to answer for!! I wanted to use an elongated sentiment not an oval one and It wouldn’t cover it all.

So to take 3 Lovely as a Tree CC

So not to be put off and still striving for personal satisfaction I had another go. After all the inks were still on the desk. Now this is fine but in the spirit of this Blog I could have made a better moon and more dappled sky.  My Right hand tree seems to have been made slightly too narrow and is disappearing off the card compared to second card.

Must say I am loving the new In colours Dapper Denim  – the sky and the Emerald Envy – front grass. Have you purchased yours yet?

Our first Technique Treats Tutorial uses sponging and this same stamp set.

Lets see what the girls can come up with at  Crafty Creations on Friday.

Be sure to return and check them out.

Bye Naomi

OOOps! Mistake Made

Well at least I know someone reads all the way to the bottom of the blog!

Apologies everyone.  Yesterday I mad a  mistake of saying the Pram was on the stamp set Made with Love when I should have said Something for Baby. I did have the Made with love on my desk and used the cute animals and sayings for the inside of the cards and didn’t check as had stamped the Pram and put away before running through the big shot.

I really am trying to keep the desk organised as I craft, and not let the creative urge run ahead of me. Do you end up with bits on your desk everywhere?

Thank you Rose.

The blog is mended now. Happy stamping Naomi.

Botanical Blooming Garden

Hope you are enjoying the Pretty Paper Patterns for this month. I love the Pop of Pink, so vibrant and uplifting.ppp after text
Life is fairly hectic here at the moment as I am about to head off to Tasmania to visit with my son and his family for a week. I have 3 grandchildren having birthdays!!! . You will love the cards, made with the Shopkin people when I post them.

But in between I thought you might like to view this little number. It’s a folded box card that stands alone and folds flat to post. There is space on the back for a greeting.

It uses the very popular  Botanical Blooms Stamp set and the matching Botanical Builder Dies  I made it with Vicky one weekend. The DSP is  from the Occasions Catalogue.

Crafty Creations May 13th

Hi ladies, Just a heads up for no blog yesterday.I’m afraid I have temporarily (I hope) misplaced my camera and so no image from class.

Hope fully it will turn up at the Center Monday.

For others these are the second set in our ibbb card set.

I will be away next week but week after we will do a little bag to hold the cards, envelopes, pen and stamps in.

These are my set .IMG_20160503_154043Enjoy, hopefully will have other images later.

Naomi.

Balloon Birthday.

We didn’t have Crafty Creations today so you will need to wait till next week for the second group of cards using the  Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set.

You may enjoy this little card though!

I posted a 90th Birthday card awhile ago. The layout used  works really well but this time I’ve added a couple more balloons as well as the sentiment from Number of Years.

I added some retired DSP (have to use up my stash to get some more from the new catalogue !)  Stamped and popped up the numbers and balloons. DSC00005

circle.

I have since learnt a trick with the Sentiment Look who’s…..  As you can tell I hand cut this one  but for a neater more professional look take two circles one slightly smaller than the other and place the largest one at the top of the words and cut out with the Big Shot. Then remove and replace circle with smaller one beneath words and cut again.Trim ends into banner.Much neater and quicker. BannerCircle 2

Hope you all have Happy Mother’s Day. Like all things the web has a web page with Mother’s Day information, from the country’s that celebrate to it’s history and ideas of things to do.

Till next time

Naomi.

Inlay DSP

I was having a little play earlier in the week and though I have had this set for a while now have only really used it for our first Technique Class.

I had the black outline already from the Rose Garden Thinlit Die and just added the pieced inlay from Botanical Gardens DSP.  I found the fine tip glue pen great for this. It is a bit hard to see in the image but the center was filled in with the reverse side of the DSP to add some depth.

The edges of the Rose were outlined with the Wink of Stella  and all the leaves were filled in completely and of course this makes it all shine, like rain on the bloom in the garden.  As many another has said the images just don’t captured the glow. You need to buy one and try for yourself.

The sentiment I stamped in Archival Black and cut out with punch, mounted on a scallop oval and popped it up.

The addition of some jewels and candy dots completed the card. If you like the little candy dots make sure you order some now as they are retiring.

Take care till next time.

Crafty Creations April 29th

Thanks to the inspiration from Stampin’ Up! promotion for #imbringingbirthdaysback, today at Crafty Creations we made these two card. Next week we will make the next two in the set and then create a card holder/purse to put them in as a gift set.

What a great idea Shannon West had to promote the delightful cards we all create. I agree never mind sending text messages, emails or online greetings on Facebook. Nothing beats a personal hand made greeting card. Lets all adopt the hashtag greeting.

Get your stamp here and add it to all your envelopes.

Some ladies weren’t able to be at Crafty’s today. Get well soon ladies! But those that were there enjoyed stamping and coloring the birthday cake from Endless Birthday Wishes.  Adding some DSP  scraps and greetings, a little bling and ribbon completed their cards.

Then they made matching envelopes.  Well done once again!
