Technique Treats March 2017

Breezing around the net, looking at weddings, cafe’s sign, and crafty places one thing you see are a lot of are chalk boards and signage. It is on “trend” as they  say and so will you be when you apply this technique to your cards and scrap booking layouts.

How do I do that you ask? Well we are bringing you how to create with the Chalkboard and Shadow Techniques.

We have used the “Carousel BirthdayStamp Set from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue. I have posted other cards here, using this versatile stamp but I think these Techniques really compliment the stamps well. The  fun of the carnival in town, before television and the internet exploded our sense, was a much longed for event, well reflected in this stamp set. Nostalgia abounds.  Even my granddaughter has a tiny carousel in her toy collection!

We are consistent in making sure that each step in the card making is photographed and fully described for easy following. With ease of use on our minds for you we have decided to separate the measurements under imperial and metric  headings to make it easier for you to follow in  all the far flung lands.

As always you are invited to use these techniques for class or just for yourself. Everything you need is written down for you. Just supply the paper, inks and stamps and get creating!

Enjoy, there’s no time like the present, get your copy  now!

Happy Creating!   Naomi.

Enjoy!

Just had to have another play with the Watercolor Pencils.

Now I must admit that I have never really been able to get the hang of Stamp’ Write Markers, Blender pens or the Copics to my satisfaction. Mind you I know it’s practice, practice, practice which I confess I don’t do enough of.  (I am not knocking these and yes I do use the Write Markers and Blender Pens now and then).

BUT these little guys, Watercolour pencils,  are pure MAGIC…. a little scribble, a blend with the Aqua painter and you will find the artist in you emerging.

This time I used the Watercolor Paper – super absorbent- and the Birthday Blooms stamp Set. with a background in One Wild Ride.

I found the inspiration in the 2016 Annual Catalogue, just switched it around a bit.

I have even created a  Tutorial for you with a list of supplies and measurements. Just click and download the PDF.

Stitched Framelits are back.

Do you remember these? They were launched a while ago and met with so much success that Stampin’ Up! were unable to meet demands.

Good news is they are back in supply as of Monday 16th January.

blog-stitchedJust to demonstrate how quick an  effective these little frames can be I have added a card I created with them.

I used the Watercolour Pencils to scribble over some embossed Card Stock. Then coloured with a just damp Aqua Painters then cut the squares, making frames. Simple!
