Technique Treats October.

Before I launch into this months Techniques, (which holds a surprise for you all) I would like to thank Alex at the Hosanna Farm Stay just over the NSW border for making our time there so enjoyable.  And yes!  I did jump off the 3 meter  diving board.  Check the farm out when you can put your crafting aside, it is a very family friendly, relaxed (I needed that) country place.

So what’s the surprise!

Having listened to you, our dedicated support group, we will be including a  full photo view of the cards we make from this month ……..you can also look back to a few months ago to see what was behind the sneak peeks then as well. Vicky is  working hard on bringing you the updated images.

As well, if you are a  Stampin’ Up! demonstrators  you can now just purchase your next class all neat and tidy for you to run with, all the hard work done.

This month sees the fantastic Technique Heat and Stick that just adds so much bling to any card. I’m sitting here, looking at them, and feeling for you as the images don’t do the wonderful dazzle justice. So much more beautiful in real life, as is the Wink of Stella. Those who have used it know this all to well.

Our other Technique is using Masks and we again have extra tutorials for you because there are so many wonderful ways to use masks. We have touched on only a couple with other suggestions on how to use them in your cards. There are 4 new ones in the Holiday catalogue, just begging for you to try them.

We combined the techniques with the Peace this Christmas Stamp Set from the Holiday Catalogue. Christmas is coming at us fast. Time to get those cards made!!!

Hope you enjoy this change in our presentations. Let me know what you think. We aim to please!
Cheers, a rested Naomi!

Crafty Creations September 9th

Wow where has the time gone too. Mmmm probably with 4 grandchildren arriving here to live.

Child minding tripled now. Been to the beach, shopping for thongs, swim in the pool, lunch eggs and bacon and then strawberries and ice cream and that’s just today!!  I loved every minute of it though. Witnessing their enthusiasm and excitement at new places and anticipation of  adventures yet to come is a real boost to the emotions. A very happy day.

Not to say that creating is not my happy place, as it is. Making cards that are enthusiastically replicated by my Crafty Creations ladies is always a delight as well as a challenge to second guess what they would like this time. There are so many ways to use the marvelous products from Stampin’ Up! often it is hard to choose. Like today. Will I make the bottle tags, or shall we use the new masks with the delightful Fruit Stand stamps or perhaps some punch art with the Foxy Friends.?

So here are the replicated cards for last Friday. The original was spotted on  Pinterest by Irma who also kindly lent us the stamp set, now retired. We sponged the card  in Night of Navy or Dapper Denim then heat embossed the star and the sentiment with White Embossing powder. We did use the Misit to repeatedly stamp the Shepherds to get a solid enough image. Then used the appropriate coloured marker to dot out any remaining white sections.   The card front was finished with a diamante on the star.

Off to sort out this weeks card.  Cheers Naomi

Technique Treats September

Here we are as promised. I think  Vicki and I have  been burning the candle at both ends to get this delightful treats to you today, as promised.

Some of the more senior viewers of this blog may well remember the Torn Paper Technique but for others it will be new.  Whichever set you belong to you will find new ways to enliven your cards or scrap booking pages by following our detailed instructions.

As this month sees the launch of the 2016 Holiday Catalogue we have teamed  the Faux Linen Techniques and Torn Papers  with the A Day at the Beach Stamp Set from the new range. It is the same set I used here.

8 September - TT

For those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, Christmas is all about family, fun times, the beach, keeping out of the sun and digging in the sand. This set is just perfect for expressing a hot Christmas or just a fun time.   Tearing paper and making Linen looking papers just adds to the fun off making your surprising cards.

There is a bonus this month as you get 4 technique sheets this time as we found it hard to confine ourselves to just using the Techniques one way each.

Many thanks to those of you who have benefited from our previous Techniques, make sure you tell your friends that you are on to a good thing!!

Pop back during the month to see more from the Christmas Catalogue, using some of the previous Techniques .  Drop us a line if there is a technique you would like us to showcase as well. We are more than happy for any feed back you give.

Bye for now.

Off to organise next weeks card class.

Late Post.

Are YOU wondering what’s happened?  Yes! At This time of the month usually Vicki and I have a sneak peek for our 1st Saturday of the month Technique Treats but circumstances have prevented it for this month. Not to worry though we will have it all for you on Saturday, the first day of the month. At least we hope so, computers being what they are.

I can tell you that we will be showcasing the Torn Paper Technique and Faux Linen, together with the Day at The Beach stamp set from the New Holiday Catalogue. It’s one of the benefits of being a demonstrator, getting products in a preorder so we get an extra month to play with them before Christmas.

But hey you can order yours on 01/09/2016 ——Bokeh for blog– tomorrow!!!

So to add some colour to this blog I’m showing you a card from our 6th Technique Treat using the Bokeh Technique and the Sea Side Shore stamp set.  One great thing about our Technique Treats is that you can start at the first one at any time or just start with this  Saturday.

Happy Stamping ladies.

Do you remember a while ago Gail won a competition here? Well I am pleased to say she has been making the cards and bringing them to class to show us. She said she found the tutorials easy to follow and would recommend the tutorials to anyone interested in learning new techniques. Thank you for sharing your cards with the class Gail.

Now before this computer shuts down again will go.

Cheers Naomi

Alteration

Do you make a card and know that while it’s pretty it’s a bit lifeless?  This was one of those that I shared in May on a post on Inlaying DSP.

Yellow Rose

Sure it was OK but look what I have done to it now!!

We have been working on our Techniques Pages and this month we featured the  Bokeh Technique and Ghosting.

So I was delighted when I purchased the very pretty Serene Scenery DSP pack and found some sheets with the technique already thereAltered rose 2.

I gently removed the Rose and Sentiment. Gave the leafs and sentiment a bit of colour with the Aqua pen and some Old Olive, mounted the DSP on to an Old Olive Card Base and replaced the elements.  Voila a new more vibrant  card.

See how effectively this Technique can be used! You can make your own backgrounds now and look as professional as this image, or just purchase the DSP.

Have fun.

Technique Treats July

It was great to see Gail bring a card to class that she had made using the Sponging Technique from our Technique Treats#4 Lovely as a Tree that she won last month. She said the instructions were easy to follow and she was very pleased with her card. We thought she had done a great job too. Keep playing Gail!

So treat yourself and grab this months treat on Bokeh and Ghostng Techniques  using the by Sea Side Shore Stamp Set and have a play like Gail.

Technique Treats June

Things going a bit slow today here on the “Sunny Coast” of Australia. We have had wild winds, endless heavy rain and hit and miss communications.

Despite the weather though it is a Happy Day.

We have a lucky WINNER!!! for our special comments on this months Catalogue launch. I am pleased to say, husband Bevan pulled the name out of the hat, and our lucky winner is Gail!! Well done Gail, just shows a comment or two on blogs can have beneficial effects. I will arrange for you to receive you FREE TUTORIAL!!  Thanks to all those who visited and commented.  It was a record number of visits, hope you all come back again and better luck next time.

I haven’t made many Split Negative cards so found this Tutorial a good way to refresh my June TTown memory on what an effective way it is to showcase a stamp or effect. Traditionally done in black and white I wanted to extend things a bit and made a female card using Basic Black and Melon Mambo Inks. You can choose your favorite  colours when making from the tutorial.

All 4 cards are made featuring the Traveler Stamp Set.

Cards using Spotlighting in my past have been mostly nature based and centered on birds or flowers so again using the Traveler Set was a move away from the norm. Vicky has extended it even further with additional techniques we  have covered in past tutorials.

This is what tutorials challenge you to do and Gail said it well in her comment.

“I would love to win a Free Technique Treat, it might help me get out of my comfort zone & help me to do something different”

This is what we bring to you each month, a chance to do something different.

Remember:

If this is your first visit you can still purchase the previous months by clicking on their Buy button.

If you are interested but don’t want to use  PayPal  please Contact me to make alternate arrangements for purchase and Payments.

Happy Stamping Naomi!

Thank you, for stopping bye.
