Crafty Creations June Umbrellas

Sometimes a play  with ink, paper and water can result in completely different out come to the one intended.

That’s exactly what happened with the background to this card. I was spritzing some Whisper White card stock with a mix of Tranquil Tide and Pool Party but wasn’t happy with the result till I turned it over and loved the effect. I called it Reverse Water Wash!

So happily I copied this card in the catalogue as did the Crafty Creators on Friday.

You may notice that the group image has a different yellow umbrella. That’s because the demonstrator – me – left  the Daffodil Delight CS at home. We improvised by using our Blender Pens with the Daffodil Ink.

Of course using water and ink means the original can never be copied so we have  a great variety of rainy backgrounds in our cards.  First we spritzed the Whisper White with water, just in the center, then Spritzed the combined Tranquil Tide and Pool Party,
wiping sides of paper to keep colours in the middle.

The amount of saturation with ink determined the depth of colour on the under side.  We helped the drying process along with the Heat Gun. We also dyed the twine with the Daffodil ink to match.

The group is planning to play at home during the week so am excited to see what they create using the same technique. I must do one with the Colorful Seasons stamp set soon, I can see the background now with leaves scattered around and all those lovely autumn colors.

Stampin’ Up! Colours 2017-2018

Todays post comes direct from Vicky Wright at Sunshinecards-Creations

She has generously shared with all her team and others so thought you might like it too.
Thanks Vicky.

Vicky Wright, Independent Stampin Up! Demonstrator

Today’s post is a little different in that I had organized a document for myself to keep all Stampin-Up-Retired-In-Coloumy colour codes in one place.  I don’t know about you but I had them everywhere & was sick of trying to find them when required.  I must say a big thank you to those lovely people who do the codes each year & share, share & share.  They are so very helpful.  Your work never goes unappreciative.

I then expanded the form to include a box to tick off when you have purchased Card, Ink Pads, Refills & Markers.  Again, a huge thank you to the lovely people for giving us the Codes.  I didn’t use any one particular code as I sort of selected the ones that I thought were closest to the Stampin’ Up! colours.

After playing with the form & tweaking it heaps, I have finally emailed it…
