Pretty Paper Patterns – July

“The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray!” as said by Robert Burns in his poem “To a Mouse”  which brings me to an apology for not delivering this blog on Friday as promised.

Vicki and I always manage to have the Pretty Paper Patterns created and ready for you but sometimes the wide world of the web puts a problem in our way or as the saying goes a “Spanner in the works” first recorded from   P. G. Wodehouse’s Right Ho, Jeeves, 1934. My spanner was big but all good now.

4. JulyThis month the papers are from the new In Colors 2016-2018 Papers and the Envelope liners 2016-2018 in Colors. I have teamed them with the very cute  Lots of Love Hostess set. That can be yours when you spend $250 in my store or host a workshop with combined sales to that value.

When purchasing the Pretty Paper Patterns you receive a sketch, full instructions to 3 cards, all items used with ordering codes, and measurements in both metric and inches.  All for the tiny price of $3.80.

How good is that!!

The sketch and ideas are very convertible to any DSP or image you have. Just swap the images for a flower or boat and you are done.

OK I’ve managed my bit now pop over here and do your bit!

Paper Perfection

A while ago I watched a Stage Presentation on the new Designer Series papers called Serene Scenery, a 6X6 paper Pack and fell in love.

If all I had seen was the display in the catalogue I would probably have passed them bye but am SO glad I purchased them. In real life they are just beautiful. Now because I love the images so much I was in danger of  a case of the  DSP Hoarding Bug  hitting me so have taken matters into hand.

It’s so easy to create a delightful super quick card. The paper, one stamp set, Wetlands and done and what’s more it looks super. Even if I do say so myself!Birds and Beach

It looks like I spent ages creating the background with numerous inks!

That’s what’s great  about DSP. With a little imagination your card can be super too!

That’s why we bring you Pretty Paper Patterns each month.

An perfect opportunity to beat the DSP Hoarding Bug from attacking you and using up your lovely papers. We supply the imagination and a card sketch as well.  This Saturday is the release of our July Tutorial for the Pretty Paper Patterns so be sure to pop back and grab your copy.

Get a head start and grab last months today.

Take Care Naomi.

Enjoying DSP

By now most people are enjoying the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue. I hope you have your copy!

One of the many things I love are all the new DSP papers. For those who are familiar with my humble blog you will have noticed a bit of Pop of Pink splattered here and there and today’s card is no exception.

I created this little cutie a while ago but wanted to share it with you as it features an Elephant and a Mouse which is from Love You lots  Stamp Set. He is one of the set that you can choose as an exclusive hostess only gift when you host a party or workshop.  I  think they are rather cute and the papers just make him shine.

To see more of what can be done using DSP head over here to the Pretty Paper Patterns Page.

Pretty Paper Patterns June

Today’s Pretty Paper Patterns Tutorial is one that’s sure to please everyone. Mostly because it is so easy to switch out the papers we used to ones in the new catalogue.. If you want something COOL and Eclectic then choose Floral Boutique DSP, if you like something BOLD that will POP then choose Pop of Pink DSP,  perhaps you are more the Nature type then choose Serene Scenery DSP.

Do you have some small pieces of a favorite DSP that you are keeping for that special card? Well that card will be here!  Your papers will fit in beautifully.  We have used the Go Wild Paper Stack which is now retired but you may have some pieces still.

No matter what DSP you choose I guarantee that you can make these cards with it.

Remember there are 4 cards and a sketch, all measurements in both centimeters and inches are provided, together with instructions on creating the cards and  a list of supplies needed.

Crafty Creations June 10th

We have had a very long session last week at Crafty Creations and the ladies didn’t manage to finish their bags. Fortunately yesterday they did.

(Unfortunately my USB port has decided to crash so no Crafty Creation Images)

It’s always a challenge trying something new and these bags were made entirely by the participants. From cutting, scoring ,glueing and decorating. I think they have all done marvelously.

These two images show the basic bag with pocket on outside for stamps and the inside with Cards, Envelopes and a pen holder.

Using the same instructions I made this little number, with a variation in the handle  and  the pen holder.

They are fun to make and are great gifts. How about a Christmas card set, or a First baby with a set of cute Thank you cards?  The cards filling this  bag are the cards I created for our Pretty paper Patterns Sketch#2

In this second bag I have used Whisper White thick CS as the base with Pop of Pink DSP and Botanical Builder Framelit Die set for the flowers. The handle is 3 rows of Melon Mambo thick twine plaited and knotted through the eyelet holes.

For free tutorial click here.
