Crafty Friday

Today at Crafty Creations at the Caloundra Community Center we had a very different day.I made the ladies do all the work!!  For my example card I

Ballons 90

used the Balloon Punch, Number of Years Dies and some DSP from Have a cuppa. I had made this for a sprightly lady celebrating this big milestone soon.

I brought in lots of DSP pieces from my stash in to the class in colours I knew to be the ladies favorites. Having decided on the age they would use they were then encouraged to choose their favorite DSP’s.  It was easy. That’s one of the fantastic things about Stampin’ Up! colour matching is a breeze.

There was much giggling and happy chatter as they all picked and chose their way around the selection.

And as you can see they all made some delightful cards.

There are 6 cards to view, a chance to CASE and use up those scraps.

I can feel the excitement building, one day to go before orders can be placed from the new Stampin’Up Catalog.
I know you have your catalogs and are eager to get creating with some of the exciting products on display. Over at Vickie’s blog she has created some lovely cards with the new colors and stamps. Pop over and see after you have looked at my offering with the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set and two of the 2015/16 colors.

What a great way to help Ronald McDonald House Charities. On the news the other night they showed the  new fantastic building going up next to the children’s hospital in Brisbane  that is in need of more funding so get behind them with this stamp set.

I have chosen to limit myself to two colors, Tip Top Taupe and Cucumber Crush. What about the white you say, well according to my son when he was 6, years ago, in his “I’m right”, voice which he often was, it’s a shade called Whisper White.  The Internet will agree and disagree but I like to remember him when I’m using black or white.

It is a simple layout with the background paper from Irresistibly Yours DSP sponged in the Tip Top Taupe Ink. One scalloped 8cm circle in Cucumber Crush and one 7cm in Whisper White, which were popped up with dimensionals provided the resting place for the tree.

This tree, after stamping from the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set  was  punched with the Tree Builder Punch.

Sentiment was from the Simply Wonderful Stamp Set and stamped on Whisper White  Card Stock then cut with the Chalk Talk Framelits with the Big Shot.  The under mount, in Tip Top Taupe was created with the same framelit cut half way, then the framelit reversed, put through the Big Shot again, cut half way to create the other end.

A pretty bow with Organza Ribbon, topped with the little bird from the Tree Builder Punch, attached with sticky dots helped fill the card.

I Stamped the sentiment and the Tree from the Sprinkles of Life Stamp set inside and the card was complete.

Till next time Happy Crafting.

New Beginnings

Just a newbie here, feeling my way around this WordPress blog site. Hopefully in a few months time it will look like all the awesome sites I see in the Creative blog hop. I’m sure you all started as I am, so have suppressed my natural inclination not to start something before I have it down pat  and go with the flow. – of course that doesn’t include creating cards, then anything goes and the results speak for themselves.

You will never reach your goal until you start to take action, any action.” Byron Pulsifer,

So this is my any action.

My new determination has come about from a wonderful gift from husband. My new craft work station – to good to call a cupboard.

Before the craft station.
Before the craft station in cramped bedroom where the curtain became pocket holders for resources and stamps, inks etc were stacked at the end of bed in boxes. I would work mostly on a tray on my knee as the desk became cluttered quickly.
After much sorting new Work station. I used the labels from MDS (My Digtal Studio Stampin’ Up) { Label this Craft Room} so I know exactly where everything is. Papers are in their trays and stamps and inks close at hand. The desk pops easily with more storage under.
