Crafty Creations Rubber Bands

Hi Crafters,

Just as well we had an easy but effective card on Friday. There was a good roll up with one lady passing bye and two along for the entertainment. That’s the group, always a joke or two or a comment or three to keep the gloomy days away. Certainly crafting is one way to dispel the “dreary me”, getting out with others and taking life with all it’s knocks with a grin.

Crafty creations Rubber bands

The background for the card was created by placing rubber bands, of varying width, around a block or handle. Once all stamps were rubber and mounted on wooden blocks, now we have acrylic, rubber and photopolymer all of which can be mounted on separate ‘blocks’.

. The flower is from Gift of Love and is one of the stamps you can purchase when you host a workshop.

To create the effect, mask off the left and right hand sides of your card front and leave a third of the card exposed in the middle. Stamp randomly in this space.

Rubber band tThe stamp set is a two step stamp but we chose to colour ours in with a variety of methods and a happy selection  of colours. This was popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and two little butterflys from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set

Stamp a greeting, add a bow and card all done.

Bye for now.

Take Care.

Alteration

Do you make a card and know that while it’s pretty it’s a bit lifeless?  This was one of those that I shared in May on a post on Inlaying DSP.

Yellow Rose

Sure it was OK but look what I have done to it now!!

We have been working on our Techniques Pages and this month we featured the  Bokeh Technique and Ghosting.

So I was delighted when I purchased the very pretty Serene Scenery DSP pack and found some sheets with the technique already thereAltered rose 2.

I gently removed the Rose and Sentiment. Gave the leafs and sentiment a bit of colour with the Aqua pen and some Old Olive, mounted the DSP on to an Old Olive Card Base and replaced the elements.  Voila a new more vibrant  card.

See how effectively this Technique can be used! You can make your own backgrounds now and look as professional as this image, or just purchase the DSP.

Have fun.

Botanical Blooming Garden

Hope you are enjoying the Pretty Paper Patterns for this month. I love the Pop of Pink, so vibrant and uplifting.ppp after text
Life is fairly hectic here at the moment as I am about to head off to Tasmania to visit with my son and his family for a week. I have 3 grandchildren having birthdays!!! . You will love the cards, made with the Shopkin people when I post them.

But in between I thought you might like to view this little number. It’s a folded box card that stands alone and folds flat to post. There is space on the back for a greeting.

It uses the very popular  Botanical Blooms Stamp set and the matching Botanical Builder Dies  I made it with Vicky one weekend. The DSP is  from the Occasions Catalogue.

Inlay DSP

I was having a little play earlier in the week and though I have had this set for a while now have only really used it for our first Technique Class.

I had the black outline already from the Rose Garden Thinlit Die and just added the pieced inlay from Botanical Gardens DSP.  I found the fine tip glue pen great for this. It is a bit hard to see in the image but the center was filled in with the reverse side of the DSP to add some depth.

The edges of the Rose were outlined with the Wink of Stella  and all the leaves were filled in completely and of course this makes it all shine, like rain on the bloom in the garden.  As many another has said the images just don’t captured the glow. You need to buy one and try for yourself.

The sentiment I stamped in Archival Black and cut out with punch, mounted on a scallop oval and popped it up.

The addition of some jewels and candy dots completed the card. If you like the little candy dots make sure you order some now as they are retiring.

Take care till next time.

Crafty Creations Washi Tape

Well girls! That was fun and how exciting are these lovely cards.

I do have to credit Craftyperson for the first card idea.

Crafty Creations

Our first card was made by using the Large leaf  from  the Botanical Builder Framelit Die, to create a window in the Basic Black CS.  Washi Tape was layered on to a separate piece of card stock then glued behind the leaf. The Left hand side  was cut with the long leaf die.

This was then popped up highlighting the Washi tape. This was  then adhered onto Whisper White CS and  3 small flowers and Words from Expression Natural Elements glued with sticky dots to the front.

Our second card the girls used their own Washi Tape and a couple of tiny butterflies
They all look great and colourful.
Well done!!

Better now than Never – Botanicals

Another Monday is upon us and I’m pleased to say I FINALLY finished the challenge from the March 23rd. I must admit that I had the background done for quiet some time but the front elements just wouldn’t come.

Thanks to this Friday’s Crafty Creations class I had a couple of leaves from their card, out of the Botanical Builder Framelits Set, near the Big Shot and creation happened. OK girls now you have a hint!

Hope you like the card, I’m happy with it now. The creative struggle I think was worth it.

Remember the colours?  Perfect Plum, Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.  – not colours I usually work with but they have come up a treat.

March Challenge3

Kisses came from the Party Pants in the SAB. I added the ‘X’ with the Project Life  Journaling Pen. The background was randomly stamped then cut into the strips using  Timeless Textures.

Colour and Template Challenge

Here I am as promised. Found a minute of time to upload the pictures for the template Challenge.
It was certainly fun with the Shaving Cream Technique for the backgrounds – my craft area smells real nice now- a very floral scented aftershave I seemed to have chosen. If you would like to know more information on how to do this technique please go to the Technique Treats page.

I love the surprise you get with each colouring, as you can see by the cards, no two backgrounds are alike.

The colours used here are Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss and Watermelon Wonder with Whisper White.  The flower is a 3 step image from the SAB Catalogue, What I Love. I stamped with the main colour then stamped off for the second. I only did two steps.

Reminder: You have one week to order this stamp set for your selves before it is whisked away never to be seen again.

Having adhered my flowers to a matching circle I popped the middle one up on Dimensionals and added a Wink of Stella and a pearl to complete. The Sentiment is from the same SAB – Perfect Pairings.

Special Baby

Friends and Flowers
A Little Miracle.

I was asked by a lady near where I live if I could make a card for her niece who has a premmie baby still in hospital. The wee one was born a month ago and while everything is looking good it is still a stressful time for all the family.  Because I loved what Judith Ritter-Österle has done with the Friends and Flowers stamp set this little card sprang to mind.

It’s a compilation of what I had at hand, some retired, some new products, some not Stampin’ Up!.  The lady was delighted and really that’s all that matters.

The Whisper White base  (21cm x 15cm or 8¼ x 57/8)  folded in half. The  Pacific Point CS (10cm x 14cm or 4″ x 51/2 ) was embossed with the Happy Heart Embossing Folder then glued to base.

I stamped the petals and baby onto some Whisper White scraps, punched out with matching Festive Flower Builder Punch and coloured in the baby. They were arranged and attached to the frame from Spellbinders Decorative Die Frame one, with sticky dots.  Pretty but not one of ours. Then glued to base.

I reverted to the Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio Miracle Baby(retired) for the sentiment from A Word for You. After printing I used the frame from Chalk Talk Framelits    which was created by running it through the big shot half way, flipping the frame, inserting back into the cut section and cutting the other half.

Inside was this sentiment I had…. just right for this little fighter.

Enjoy.

PS Just heard news am a grandmother again, number 9 so another baby card soon.
