Beautiful Butterfly

Better late than never! Been a busy week with thelast weeks of Plastic free July. Don’t think I came close really. It’s amazing when you stop to really watch how much plastic there is in your life. Cerainly no more supermarket bags for this girl!

What have I been busy with. One adventure is sewing bags for Boomerang bags, where we re use donated materials and create free bags for anyone.

If you don’t know about them head to their facebook page and see for yourself. Each bag makes a difference.

My other activities have centered around a general craft room tidy and a bedroom paint out – not quiet finished yet.

So last week the the Crafty Creations made these lovely cards using the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set. July 21 CC

Hope you enjoy them.

CC 21st july

DSP Delight

We all have some. Those pieces of DSP that we just pull out and admire and dream of the possibilities. I had one such piece and have seen many posts on Pinterest and Instagram using it beautifully. Still it remained uncut. Still dreaming.

Then I was asked to make a special 70th Birthday card so I relented and here it is. It is retired now but the combination of copper, glimmer and colour have been well combined in the new catalogue with these papers. I just don’t have mine yet!!

My DSP was the Affectionately Yours which is now retired, as is the Love and Affection Stamp Set I used on the inside. Thankfully Beautiful You on the front and the Large Number Framelits are still current.

Enjoy Naomi.

Remember no question is ever wrong or unwarranted. Ask away.

Proud Moment – Daughters 50th

We have just returned from a lovely lunch and now the card is safely in her hands I can let you see it.

It’s 50yrs since her arrival on planet earth and during that time eggs and chooks have featured on many occasions. from being a youngster, collecting eggs to owning her own chooks, not to mention that her Great Grandma was called Googa Nanny. (Googa as in Egg)

So I thought the Hey Chicks was a natural go to and besides they are cute. . I did CASE some help from Bronwyn Eastley’ s tutorial, who  is a bit of  master at these Z fold cards.

Products used include:

Front of card with the Free Sale-A-Bration Hey Chick stamp SetAvant Garden  Stamp set, for the flowers and the Any Occassions Stamp Set which forms the banners. Other details are from Serene Scenery DSP, Gift from the Garden Stamp Set, Scalloped Tag Topper punch, Layering Squares Framelits, Watercolor Pencils, and White Chalk Stampin’ Marker.

The wire fence is the fantastic Hexagon Dynamic Textured EF.

Sale sign, shelf and the Naughty chook in the garden. Note all the front chooks have party hats but the back chooks are running late and not at the party yet.

Hope you have enjoyed this little display. I had great fun fussy cutting it all out.

Of course daughter was delighted!

Happy Creating!

Crafty Creations 27th January 2017

We missed some of our ladies this week as they are still in holiday mode. It’s  Australia Day weekend down here and lots of families take a 4 day break  as it’s their last holiday chance before the  Easter break.

We still managed to fill our time with shares from the Occasions catalogue, Sale-A-Bration items and the excitement of Irma becoming a new  Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.

Congratulations Irma !

I will have to be on my toes now!!

We made the card I posted on January the 11th with a Tutorial here.january27cc

Everyone enjoyed the stamp set, as it seems does so many people on Pinterest. So much you can do with it really, it’s surprising just look here.

I love looking at the little differences to see each persons personal touch.

Well done for 1st day back.

Till next blog

Cheers Naomi.

Crafty Creations Rubber Bands

Hi Crafters,

Just as well we had an easy but effective card on Friday. There was a good roll up with one lady passing bye and two along for the entertainment. That’s the group, always a joke or two or a comment or three to keep the gloomy days away. Certainly crafting is one way to dispel the “dreary me”, getting out with others and taking life with all it’s knocks with a grin.

Crafty creations Rubber bands

The background for the card was created by placing rubber bands, of varying width, around a block or handle. Once all stamps were rubber and mounted on wooden blocks, now we have acrylic, rubber and photopolymer all of which can be mounted on separate ‘blocks’.

. The flower is from Gift of Love and is one of the stamps you can purchase when you host a workshop.

To create the effect, mask off the left and right hand sides of your card front and leave a third of the card exposed in the middle. Stamp randomly in this space.

Rubber band tThe stamp set is a two step stamp but we chose to colour ours in with a variety of methods and a happy selection  of colours. This was popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and two little butterflys from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set

Stamp a greeting, add a bow and card all done.

Bye for now.

Take Care.

Pretty Paper Patterns June

Today’s Pretty Paper Patterns Tutorial is one that’s sure to please everyone. Mostly because it is so easy to switch out the papers we used to ones in the new catalogue.. If you want something COOL and Eclectic then choose Floral Boutique DSP, if you like something BOLD that will POP then choose Pop of Pink DSP,  perhaps you are more the Nature type then choose Serene Scenery DSP.

Do you have some small pieces of a favorite DSP that you are keeping for that special card? Well that card will be here!  Your papers will fit in beautifully.  We have used the Go Wild Paper Stack which is now retired but you may have some pieces still.

No matter what DSP you choose I guarantee that you can make these cards with it.

Remember there are 4 cards and a sketch, all measurements in both centimeters and inches are provided, together with instructions on creating the cards and  a list of supplies needed.

Technique Treats June

Things going a bit slow today here on the “Sunny Coast” of Australia. We have had wild winds, endless heavy rain and hit and miss communications.

Despite the weather though it is a Happy Day.

We have a lucky WINNER!!! for our special comments on this months Catalogue launch. I am pleased to say, husband Bevan pulled the name out of the hat, and our lucky winner is Gail!! Well done Gail, just shows a comment or two on blogs can have beneficial effects. I will arrange for you to receive you FREE TUTORIAL!!  Thanks to all those who visited and commented.  It was a record number of visits, hope you all come back again and better luck next time.

I haven’t made many Split Negative cards so found this Tutorial a good way to refresh my June TTown memory on what an effective way it is to showcase a stamp or effect. Traditionally done in black and white I wanted to extend things a bit and made a female card using Basic Black and Melon Mambo Inks. You can choose your favorite  colours when making from the tutorial.

All 4 cards are made featuring the Traveler Stamp Set.

Cards using Spotlighting in my past have been mostly nature based and centered on birds or flowers so again using the Traveler Set was a move away from the norm. Vicky has extended it even further with additional techniques we  have covered in past tutorials.

This is what tutorials challenge you to do and Gail said it well in her comment.

“I would love to win a Free Technique Treat, it might help me get out of my comfort zone & help me to do something different”

This is what we bring to you each month, a chance to do something different.

Remember:

If this is your first visit you can still purchase the previous months by clicking on their Buy button.

If you are interested but don’t want to use  PayPal  please Contact me to make alternate arrangements for purchase and Payments.

Happy Stamping Naomi!

Thank you, for stopping bye.

Inlay DSP

I was having a little play earlier in the week and though I have had this set for a while now have only really used it for our first Technique Class.

I had the black outline already from the Rose Garden Thinlit Die and just added the pieced inlay from Botanical Gardens DSP.  I found the fine tip glue pen great for this. It is a bit hard to see in the image but the center was filled in with the reverse side of the DSP to add some depth.

The edges of the Rose were outlined with the Wink of Stella  and all the leaves were filled in completely and of course this makes it all shine, like rain on the bloom in the garden.  As many another has said the images just don’t captured the glow. You need to buy one and try for yourself.

The sentiment I stamped in Archival Black and cut out with punch, mounted on a scallop oval and popped it up.

The addition of some jewels and candy dots completed the card. If you like the little candy dots make sure you order some now as they are retiring.

Take care till next time.

Crafty Creations Mother’s Day

Well what a week it’s been.

Just to cap it off, today the pressure was on with a surprise on the inside of our card. I created a real challenge, with the little butterfly floating above the card.  CC Mother's DayInside butterfly

We used the pretty flowers from Flowering Fields, (Retired)  and stamped them onto a 7cm circle then coloured  them in. The small butterfly was popped up.

A piece of Blushing Bride was scored in half for the base card.

Butterflies  from Papillon Pourri  were randomly stamped inside on Wisteria Wonder.  The Whisper White was scored at  1″ 3¾”and 4½”  folded then cut with smaller circle on the fold.

Two butterflies were stamped in Melon Mambo and glued back to back onto a piece of Window Sheet. This was inserted under the fold and glued at each end, to give the floating effect. The White card stock was then glued to the center of the Blushing Bride leaving a small gap either side of crease to allow card to close.

As you can see the ladies added various greetings and these were stamped onto Wisteria Wonder in Memento.  With a piece of Washi Tape across  behind the circle, a bow and found heart button  the card was complete.CC April22 Centre Pic

If you look closely you will see one lady chose her own design and a little heart from a chocolate. Well done Rose! Good to see individual creativity.
Till next week.
