Crafty Creations February 16th Epic Celebrations

This week the class was divided into two groups, with each group working on a different card. I decided to do this as the stamps from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue are so beautiful  but some take a while with double stamping and showcasing different techniques.  Our class time was running out and nothing spoils a good crafting session than feeling under pressure to hurriedly stamp and pass things on.

One group worked on the Lots of Lavender and one with the Epic Celebration, both from the S-A-B catalogue and available FREE with purchase of  $90.00 worth of products from here.

They made an Eclipse card using the Happy Birthday Die and the Epic Celebrations.  Quiet a delicate operation as there are many little pieces to glue back into the card and as sometimes happens it didn’t all go to plan. But as you can see all the cards look great. One has the Happy Birthday removed and not replaced and one has the Happy Birthday recut in Bermuda Bay.

This was the original and so much fun to make.

Our second card featured the Lots of Lavender and 3 ladies made this one.

It required some double stamping and embossing with the Petal Pair Textured Embossing Folder which is tucked into the side of page 23 in the Occasions Catalogue.

They will all swap next week, so come back then and see what the two groups have done.

Even though I email images to each member before the class sometimes just seeing the real article gives off more ideas of how the stamp set can be used so we will see if we have any new creative ideas appear next week.

Till then Naomi.

Crafty Creations February 2nd

Hi all!

Have you  been reading some negative comments about this stamp set and dies that it’s too difficult?  Well we used the Let The Good Times Roll and Thrill Ride Pop Up and our little  group proved today that that is so wrong. Everyone managed to complete their card in the 2 hrs allotted.

Mind you I did do a fair amount of prep, stamping and cutting out the cars, balloons, presents, flags and banners. Just as well I did because we had 6 of our regular team, 2 new ladies and one marvelous young man and his carer.

His name was Ben and he was delighted to create the card for his Mum. We even found an “I love you Mum” stamp in the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set.  We weren’t able to take a photo of Ben’s card as he became a bit tired and left when he had completed his card. Well done Ben. Hope to see you again.

For the front of the card we used the Lift Me Up stamp set so that half the class could be working on the front of the card and the others on the insert. We tied it in with a air balloon above the roller coaster.

So if today is your day why not have a go yourselves. The children I have given this card too have loved it and the older young at heart as well.

Take care, travel safe till next post

A Little Nest.

So much to do and so little time, so a quick post hoping that you have all had a safe and Happy Christmas.  Crafty Creations  are on holidays but just to keep in touch and keep your creative juices flowing I’m sharing this little toddlers card.

Can you identify which stamp set the little nest is from? How many guessed the Swirly Birds Set. Well done you!

The papers are Whisper White and Flirty Flamingo. Inks used Blushing Bride, and Flirty Flamingo and Basic Grey for the nest.2nd-birthday

The embossed background used  the Seaside EF, a versatile folder, not just for sea themed cards!!   Love the Layering Oval Dies, makes framing so quick and easy. The sentiment was from a free retired Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, Party Pants. Getting these free stamps sets is a quick way to build up your supply. You are all so lucky to be able to do that soon.

Number 2 is a Large Number Framelit and the little suit Something for Baby SS and Baby’s First Framelits. All topped off by some flowers using the Blooming Heart Thinlits and dotted with some black pearls.

Get ready for the NEW YEAR.

I am, lots of organising and sorting so can have a super year.  Cheers Naomi

Couple Cuties.

Now that you have all received your DSP from the October specials I think you might be looking for some ideas to use them. These little cuties use the lovely By The Shore DSP, coupled with the Day at the Beach Stamp set from the Seasonal Catalogue.

Of course you can get plenty of ideas from our Pretty paper Patterns too.

The Girl and the Boy were a couple of random stamps I had in my collection coupled with some retired framelits.

The framelit in Real Red was embossed with the Sea Side Embossing Folder.

It was fun colouring the girl and boy  with the  Stamp and Write Markers and the Blender Pen.  Colouring is very relaxing so it’s easy to see why the colouring trend has caught on! Mind you colouring a stamp and making a card means you have a give away product for your time as well.

The other elements, sun, umbrella, bucket and spade, were stamped on Whisper White and coloured before fussy cutting out and adhering with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To complete the card a pocket was needed for the necessary gift card, so I stamped and coloured the ball and thongs before embossing with the Sea Side Embossing folder. This was adhered to the base card using the Foam Adhesive Strips  which gives just the right depth for a gift card, or money. They have made my life so much easier!!

Thanks Stampin’ Up!

Off to create some more cards but make sure you check back Saturday for our Technique Treats November selection using Faux silk and Faux Stitching Techniques.

Bye! Happy stamping!!

Shopkin Wishes Birthday Cake

Hello from Delightful Tasmania. By now the birthday girl has received her card with squeals of delight so hope you enjoy it too. For those with young families the name Shopkin will ring a bell as they are tiny figures with their own world and movie that are collectables, and a must have for many a young girl.
Shopkin Wishes

I had as much fun creating her as did Emily receiving it!!  Her main cake was made with Melon Mambo CS which was heat set with dazzling diamonds. She really does sparkle! The hair band was cut using a circle die (R),the icing from  another die, candle flame the leaf waste on the Botanical Builders Framelits Die, the mouth a tiny waste from the Rose Garden thinlit, the eyes circle punches and white dots from the Owl Builder punch and the legs of a donkey make the eyelashes!! Love punch art…. all sorts of items become re-purposed.

Old Olive,Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White were the other card stock used. .The lines around the papers were drawn with a Project Life journal Pen.

Hope you enjoyed Shopkin Wishes. I will post Cheeky Chocolate next time.

Take care.

Balloon Birthday.

We didn’t have Crafty Creations today so you will need to wait till next week for the second group of cards using the  Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set.

You may enjoy this little card though!

I posted a 90th Birthday card awhile ago. The layout used  works really well but this time I’ve added a couple more balloons as well as the sentiment from Number of Years.

I added some retired DSP (have to use up my stash to get some more from the new catalogue !)  Stamped and popped up the numbers and balloons. DSC00005

circle.

I have since learnt a trick with the Sentiment Look who’s…..  As you can tell I hand cut this one  but for a neater more professional look take two circles one slightly smaller than the other and place the largest one at the top of the words and cut out with the Big Shot. Then remove and replace circle with smaller one beneath words and cut again.Trim ends into banner.Much neater and quicker. BannerCircle 2

Hope you all have Happy Mother’s Day. Like all things the web has a web page with Mother’s Day information, from the country’s that celebrate to it’s history and ideas of things to do.

Till next time

Baby’s two.

Baby cards are always a delight to create and this little fella was no exception.

What better way to express the love that a baby generates than with the Embossing folder Happy Hearts. It was perfect to start with. I adhered it to the Whisper White base card. I then created a frame using a rectangular die  and rounded the corners with the Envelope Board in Tempting Turquoise

The little romper suit was cut from Birthday Bash Occasions 2015 (retired) DSP Paper using the Baby’s First Framelits and the tie added in coordinating Tempting Turquoise Card Stock.

I grabbed the some letters  I have and created the sentiment and cut with the Bitty Banners Die. My little ducky was stamped in Daffodil Delight then die cut with the Baby’s First Framelits. I popped the frame and the romper suit up on Dimensionals added three pearls to the side  and one on the tie. Adhereing one small duck on the front completed the card.

Birthday Boy

Sunburst Birthdaywm
Sunburst Matao Birthday

My grandson recently turned  6  and he is a delight to us all. We had been teasing him about having had so many toys at Christmas he wouldn’t need any more. The second time the subject came up he responded, in a gentle voice

“That’s OK Nanny and Poppy if you can’t get me one I don’t mind BECAUSE it’s my birthday and I get to choose dinner. Fish and Chips!!! “

If only we were all so easily pleased!

It goes without saying  we had a lovely evening by the waters edge eating our fish and chips and a swim for the boys.

Bullcock Beach Caloundra as the sun sets.

Of course he received a present and this card, and the verse  that goes with it.

This time I have made a tutorial to make the blog read quicker, for all us busy people.

Happy Birthday Tutorial

Five Fishes

IMG_20151222_091742Hello again,

Hope you have all had a Happy Christmas and a relaxing Boxing Day. We did with two very excited young boys.

Talking of excitement…I am very excited with the new products in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue and the  Sale-A-Bration catalogues so have a sneak peek here. Having purchased the Festive Flower Builder Punch, for the Christmas poinsettias, I was delighted to see a set of stamps using the same punch. Good on SU, they do make an effort to help use the products we purchase in innovative ways.  So needing to make a small boys 5th birthday card I grabbed on to the idea on page 46 of the Handmade from the Heart Occasions Catalogue and created the card above.

The clouds were made using the Tree Builder Punch and coloured slightly with Smoky Slate The waves used the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper which was sponged with Marina Mist, Sky Blue and Pool Party to give a varied water effect. I then punched the top edge with the 1″ circle punch.

My Fishes were stamped in Tangelo Twist from the Friends and Flowers Set (page 46 Occasions 2016 Catalogue on sale January 5th) and punched with the Festive Flower Builder Punch, in the medium size. The tails were from the joined leaves and just angled slightly before attaching with sticky dots.  The hats used the top of the  Tree punch and the bottoms rounded with the 1” circle punch from some scraps of DSP HIgh Tide (retired) (Placed from inside out). The little pom pom was made from the tiny flower in the Flower Fair Framelits Die set.

Happy birthday I stamped in Memento black, sponged the edges in  Marina Mist and cut out a star fish from the High Tide DSP.  This DSP was also used on the little pocket inside. It was scalloped with the Adorning Accents edgelit (retired) and mounted on Whisper White Card Stock that had also been scalloped, creating the surf.   I just happened to have a rub on Happy Birthday in my odd stash pile so added that.

pocket

Hope you like them as much as I do. They were quick and easy to create and make for a Happy card for a Five Year old who does happen to have a fish tank in his bedroom!! Pop over to verses for the inside poem.
