Crafty Creations 23rd June

We certainly had some fun playing with the Embossing paste on Friday.  As you can see quiet an assembly line happening. Two Big Shots, 1 Cuttle bug, 1 Embossing station and a water bath for cleaning.  Thank goodness we had the big room.

June Crafty LadiesAs usual not a full crew but just as well with all the cutting and drying needed. In Whisper White:- 1 large Flower, 3 Branches, 3 Small flowers, 3 Medium flowers, 2 Autumn leaves. In Basic Black:- 2 Autumn Leaves, all from the Seasonal layers Thinlit Dies.  The largest flower is from the retired Botanical Builder but I will still be using it for a long time, that’s for sure.

We didn’t experiment with colours but just practiced with the embossing paste for today. Colouring later!

Irma added a sentiment, the original didn’t have a sentiment,  and used some coloured diamenties to highlight her card.   The largest flower is from the retired Botanical Builder but I will still be using it for sure.

Every one managed to create a finished card despite dealing with a new technique!

Well done ladies.

Crafty Creations for 18th November

No post last week as we didn’t complete our cards. But we managed to get that finished and one more as well. Everyone fell in love with the cute Bambi from some retired Stampin’ Up! DSP.

We did use the Torn Paper Technique to create the snow drifts at Bambi’s feet, then highlighted it with some Dazzling Diamonds sprinkled on Liquid glass.  The snowflakes, with the smaller one stamped off, were inked with Tip Top Taupe – a change for me from Crumb Cake – and came from the now retired Endless Wishes. The lovely bold sentiment is from Flurry of Wishes in the current catalogue, stamped in Chocolate Chip. The pine cones and needles  are from Peace This Christmas, stamped in Chocolate Chip and Garden Green.

A Wink of Stella, and some pearls finished this card.

novemberbambi-class

Our other card, from the week before, used the Totally Trees Stamp Set,  Botanicals For You and  The Botanical Builder Thinlits. The Whisper White was embossed with the Petal Burst EF,over laid with a strip of Irresistibly Yours DSP that was coloured in Pool Party.  Some masking of the sun and water in Pool Party and Sweet Sugar Plum made the background with the island, leaves and flowers just finishing the scene.

It feels like we were at a Tropical Island, just waiting for the bar tender to bring us some  Piña Coladas or Margarita by the waters edge. Ahhhh!

Of course like most people these days some of the inspiration was from Pinterest. Where would be without it? november-palm-tree

Wedding Bliss

I was asked to make a Wedding Card for a friend and with so many beautiful choices in the current catalogue my hardest task was deciding what to do.

I was eager to use the delightful Copper Foil Sheets  as I had been  a playing  with the Copper embossing powder and loved it. It makes such a refreshing change from the silver and gold.

Next I sought out the Botanical Builder framelits as I haven’t used them enough yet! Having fallen in love with all the Pinterest images for cards made from them I have been sadly remiss in using them enough myself.

Finally I chose the the perfect sentiment … Wedding Wishes… from Rose Wonder Stamp Set which was one of the other choices for the card. wedding-wishes

Having cut the flowers all out, it was just a quick assembly with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue dots, adding the Copper Embossed sentiment and the insert  and card complete.

For what looks like a detailed card it was really quicker then some of the technique cards I make.

I just love the copper Sheets. Make sure that you punch your flowers from the base sheet that is behind the card front. No one sees behind the card and it saves a lot of foil!!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. Love the shine!

Crafty Creations 2nd September

Hope you all had a good weekend, especially those who had some special Father’s Day time. We had a swim with the grandchildren then a lovely evening sitting around the Fire Pit at daughters. Nice to see a fire burning, there’s something mesmerising about the flames and the sparks and coals for me. Familiar in Tasmania but rare here in sunny Queensland.

Time to show you the great Magic cards we made at Crafty Creations last Friday. Have to say that as this was quiet an advanced technique it took a while before the magic happened.

crafty Creations SeptemberMagic jar openWe used the Jar of Love Stamp set and the tiny fish bubbles are from the Swirly Birds Stamp Set.  Happy Birthday Greeting came from the Crazy About You stamp set. We used some retired Perfectly Artistic DSP . One thing Ialways encourage is for each participant to make their own artistic choices and this time they all chose to use the opposite side of the DSP to my chosen side. We even have some little bees as well as flies. !   Viva la Difference!

You can see them easier here.

Thanks for stopping bye.

Shopkin Wishes Birthday Cake

Hello from Delightful Tasmania. By now the birthday girl has received her card with squeals of delight so hope you enjoy it too. For those with young families the name Shopkin will ring a bell as they are tiny figures with their own world and movie that are collectables, and a must have for many a young girl.
Shopkin Wishes

I had as much fun creating her as did Emily receiving it!!  Her main cake was made with Melon Mambo CS which was heat set with dazzling diamonds. She really does sparkle! The hair band was cut using a circle die (R),the icing from  another die, candle flame the leaf waste on the Botanical Builders Framelits Die, the mouth a tiny waste from the Rose Garden thinlit, the eyes circle punches and white dots from the Owl Builder punch and the legs of a donkey make the eyelashes!! Love punch art…. all sorts of items become re-purposed.

Old Olive,Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White were the other card stock used. .The lines around the papers were drawn with a Project Life journal Pen.

Hope you enjoyed Shopkin Wishes. I will post Cheeky Chocolate next time.

Take care.

Botanical Blooming Garden

Hope you are enjoying the Pretty Paper Patterns for this month. I love the Pop of Pink, so vibrant and uplifting.ppp after text
Life is fairly hectic here at the moment as I am about to head off to Tasmania to visit with my son and his family for a week. I have 3 grandchildren having birthdays!!! . You will love the cards, made with the Shopkin people when I post them.

But in between I thought you might like to view this little number. It’s a folded box card that stands alone and folds flat to post. There is space on the back for a greeting.

It uses the very popular  Botanical Blooms Stamp set and the matching Botanical Builder Dies  I made it with Vicky one weekend. The DSP is  from the Occasions Catalogue.

Inlay DSP

I was having a little play earlier in the week and though I have had this set for a while now have only really used it for our first Technique Class.

I had the black outline already from the Rose Garden Thinlit Die and just added the pieced inlay from Botanical Gardens DSP.  I found the fine tip glue pen great for this. It is a bit hard to see in the image but the center was filled in with the reverse side of the DSP to add some depth.

The edges of the Rose were outlined with the Wink of Stella  and all the leaves were filled in completely and of course this makes it all shine, like rain on the bloom in the garden.  As many another has said the images just don’t captured the glow. You need to buy one and try for yourself.

The sentiment I stamped in Archival Black and cut out with punch, mounted on a scallop oval and popped it up.

The addition of some jewels and candy dots completed the card. If you like the little candy dots make sure you order some now as they are retiring.

Take care till next time.

Crafty Creations Washi Tape

Well girls! That was fun and how exciting are these lovely cards.

I do have to credit Craftyperson for the first card idea.

Crafty Creations

Our first card was made by using the Large leaf  from  the Botanical Builder Framelit Die, to create a window in the Basic Black CS.  Washi Tape was layered on to a separate piece of card stock then glued behind the leaf. The Left hand side  was cut with the long leaf die.

This was then popped up highlighting the Washi tape. This was  then adhered onto Whisper White CS and  3 small flowers and Words from Expression Natural Elements glued with sticky dots to the front.

Supply List

Our second card the girls used their own Washi Tape and a couple of tiny butterflies
They all look great and colourful.
Well done!!

Better now than Never – Botanicals

Another Monday is upon us and I’m pleased to say I FINALLY finished the challenge from the March 23rd. I must admit that I had the background done for quiet some time but the front elements just wouldn’t come.

Thanks to this Friday’s Crafty Creations class I had a couple of leaves from their card, out of the Botanical Builder Framelits Set, near the Big Shot and creation happened. OK girls now you have a hint!

Hope you like the card, I’m happy with it now. The creative struggle I think was worth it.

Remember the colours?  Perfect Plum, Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.  – not colours I usually work with but they have come up a treat.

March Challenge3

Kisses came from the Party Pants in the SAB. I added the ‘X’ with the Project Life  Journaling Pen. The background was randomly stamped then cut into the strips using  Timeless Textures.

Tea Times New Venture

I mentioned that there was some excitement in the air and so there is. I have just been appointed to lead the Crafty Creations Card Group at the Community Center in Caloundra. It has been very ably run by Vicki Wright for the last 8 years and she will be sadly missed, big shoes to fill.

As this has come about a bit faster than I had envisioned, (which is why I missed last Monday’s Blog) I have created a shaker card that symbolises the “shaking up of things” and as the ladies enjoy a cuppa the lovely tea pot from the Cup and Kettle Framelits Die seemed perfect.

I must confess  Nicol Tugurl posted one similar on  Pinterest

Tea Times New Venture

The ladies were all very creative with their cards and enjoyed the challenge. They could see that the image needed a background that had some life but not too busy as in the reverse of this DSP. It is lovely but not the best way of showcasing the teapot.

I love the way the spout fills up as you tip the card back and forth. The “tea” is just glitter from the $2.00 shop. Silver, gold and bronze mixed.

If you check back at a later date I will have posted the tutorial. Thank you for stopping bye.
