Late Post.

Are YOU wondering what’s happened?  Yes! At This time of the month usually Vicki and I have a sneak peek for our 1st Saturday of the month Technique Treats but circumstances have prevented it for this month. Not to worry though we will have it all for you on Saturday, the first day of the month. At least we hope so, computers being what they are.

I can tell you that we will be showcasing the Torn Paper Technique and Faux Linen, together with the Day at The Beach stamp set from the New Holiday Catalogue. It’s one of the benefits of being a demonstrator, getting products in a preorder so we get an extra month to play with them before Christmas.

But hey you can order yours on 01/09/2016 ——Bokeh for blog– tomorrow!!!

So to add some colour to this blog I’m showing you a card from our 6th Technique Treat using the Bokeh Technique and the Sea Side Shore stamp set.  One great thing about our Technique Treats is that you can start at the first one at any time or just start with this  Saturday.

Happy Stamping ladies.

Here I am,  back again. We had a fantastic time in Melbourne. Head over here to see what my grandson Finley Coll got up to with the Tigers (Richmond) footy club. He was a little champ we are all so proud of him. With many thanks to the Channel 7 Sunrise team and the Richmond footy Club.

Tuesday I had my first Workshop, we did have fun (didn’t we ladies). More on that in a future post. So I needed a quick effective card for today and came up with this.

Autumn Leaves2

Today we used the Wet Ones Technique together with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. The Card Stock was Soft Suede, Peekaboo Peach and Whisper White. The technique is quiet simple really.

Just drop a few dots of reinkers randomly on to a double folded  layer of Wet Ones (baby wipes). This provides a multi coloured stamp pad. Randomly stamp the large oak leaf over the Whisper White CS. Then fill in any smaller gaps with the small leaf. Stamp 3 more leaves and fussy cut out. We also used this technique to tie and cut the ribbon. Thanks Vicki for the link.

Behind the leaves is some retired vellum.

70th Birthday

A Special Occasion deserves a special card.  My dearest one and only brother turned 70 a while  ago and one of  his loves is fishing. So what better than some fish from the Jar of Love Stamp set in a shaker card to make him happy. I did add some love hearts and micro beads for sand. The greetings and numbers are from Number of years and the paper is the so versatile and lovely Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Specialty Paper  that I coloured with Dapper Denim Ink.

The aspect I was so happy with though is the Swirly Scribble Thinlits dies.that are surrounding the circles. It is hard to come up with original designs when so much is shared on Pinterest so I was chuffed to have, I think a first. Let me know!

Now before it’s not the first over and out and thanks for stopping bye.

Technique Treats July Release

Hi There, Pleased you have returned to secure your Treat for this month. As discussed in my last post we are bringing you two great techniques, Emboss Resist and Double Embossing.

thumbnail_7 August - TT

Have you seen those lovely floral cards that have an opaque white soft look about them? Well odds on they are made with the Emboss Resist technique so purchase you copy and you can master this easily. As well you get two methods of double embossing, one using two folders direct onto the card stock and one where you can create a frame. Now for $4.00 that’s what I call value.

You also get:

  • ·    List of supplies required to complete 4 individual cards
  • ·    Measurements for each card – Metric & Imperial
  • ·    Step-by-step instructions required for each card with images
  • ·    Technique Tutorial with step-by-step instructions
  • ·    Cover sheet for your Technique Book
  • ·    Technique Index for you to place in the front of your book & for you to update

This month we have used the Gift from the Garden Stamp set, see those cut pots in the image, aren’t they sweet and there’s gloves and gumboots too in the set. So much fun to use. If you don’t have the stamp sets and want to do exactly as we have. (After all, time is precious and why reinvent the wheel when we have done all the work for you) you can purchase it from here.

Crafty Creations July

Apologies to all those who tuned in on Friday to see what the girls from Crafty Creations have been up too.I had been having a busy weekend and lots of unexplained computer issues. Not only that but phone wouldn’t let me send my pictures either!!. All sorted now after changing passwords etc etc.

Last week we were a small class but a happy one. One thing about retired ladies they do manage to go away a fair bit -which is something we all want to do on retiring- but it does make for fluctuating classes. A feast or a famine!

They accepted the challenge of their double curtain fold with gusto along with trepidation. But once they got the cut correct and the folds happening the whole thing fell into place.

I think the versatility of this fold is great. A fantastic way to use up your DSP  – Check here for more ideas on using DSP  I had a fun time making all the card  examples for the group, but I think this one is my favorite.

Surprise card

It uses the Swirly Birds Bundle and retired DSP  and the Thoughtful Banners bundle. banners.

Supply List

Hopefully all is going well now and I will log in later this week with another Swirly Bird variation. One you won’t have seen on Pinterest.!

Well done! Well done! Well done!

What more can be said. Today my group of ladies excelled themselves and created a slider card, not a single but a DOUBLE!

Of course I won’t say it went without a hitch or two but they all managed to finish enough to maybe add some finer details at home later. Just a bit of homework!!

Look what they made!!

Wow half way through the year!                              Starting Christmas cards soon!

We will be glad when the elections are over and we can move back to the larger room. Pr-elections have been held at the Community Center for the past three weeks. In the meeting room the light and cramped space does make card making a bit difficult. This week I had to go in one door, through the children’s playground and in the side door to help the ladies at the end of the table. Talk about get your exercise!

We made two different cards over two weeks so we could take our time stamping with the Watercolor  Wings and Lotus Blossom (R)  stamp sets.  These are two or three step stamping sets that give depth and colour to the images and are only restricted in design by imagination!!

So I think we have all done a splendid job and risen to the occasion with laughs and positive attitude.

Back to normal next week. When we will be making a slider card!

Pretty Paper Patterns June

Today’s Pretty Paper Patterns Tutorial is one that’s sure to please everyone. Mostly because it is so easy to switch out the papers we used to ones in the new catalogue.. If you want something COOL and Eclectic then choose Floral Boutique DSP, if you like something BOLD that will POP then choose Pop of Pink DSP,  perhaps you are more the Nature type then choose Serene Scenery DSP.

Do you have some small pieces of a favorite DSP that you are keeping for that special card? Well that card will be here!  Your papers will fit in beautifully.  We have used the Go Wild Paper Stack which is now retired but you may have some pieces still.

Crafty Creations June 17

As promised I said I’d show you what the talented ladies made at the Caloundra Community Center today.

As you can see from the images there were varied coloured inks used as well as differing sentiments but Hey! they all look great. It may not show but two people added a Wink of Stella to add some shine to their moon and stars as well.

Everyone agrees that this stamp set Lovely as a Tree is one that’s very versatile.

As we were sponging, there were some “This isn’t looking right!” “Mine doesn’t look like yours!” “I’ve mucked it up again!”  and I’d say “Just keep sponging, it will be OK!” and sure enough once we stamped the trees the ladies could see how it all comes together and were pleased with their, in some cases, first attempt at sponging.

If you would like to know more go to the Technique Treats Page and choose the first Tutorial on Sponging and Re-inkers.

Well done! Hope to see more sponging on your cards ladies!
