Fairy Birthday house.

It’s been birthday month in the Connolly house and this is the one I made for my eldest grandaughter Emily. Last year I made a fairy toadstool and this year the fairy has some where to live.

Sometimes it’s just fun to use what you have on hand, mixing brands and mediums so I haven’t confined myself to just Stampin’up products, as much as I prefer and love them.

tree house One Happy Gathering.

I did use Whisper White as the base for all the coloured pieces. The tree trunk was made  with Chocolate Chip, Smokey Slate and Early Expresso Inks, then embossed. The leaves were from the Bird Punch and coloured with Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi and outlined with Early Expresso Inks. The back ground leaf paper was from the Irresistibly Yours DSP and coloured with Mossy Meadow.  Around the tree a sponged effect was created with Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow and Wild Wasabi Inks.

I cut the bird, it’s nest and squirrel from the Hostess set Nuts About You after stamping with Early Expresso and colouring in Pacific Point and Smokey Slate.

The steps are Crushed Curry Card Stock and the door a red scrap I had. I had toyed with the idea of putting Emily’s age on the door but changed my mind and added 8 candles on a cake inside along with a fairy blowing them out instead. (They like to know you know how old they really are!)

The yellow behind the window is a scrap from the All Abloom DSP and Basic Black  over it.

Now if any of you want to make one for your daughter, niece, granddaughter and would like the pattern please leave a comment and I will make it available.

Till next time. Happy Stamping.
